Bavarian
Folk music is the most well known German music outside of Germany[1].
It is originally from the mountain area[2]
in southern Germany and was developed by rural villagers. Bavarian music has
evolved over time and traditional elements have been replaced by pop elements.
Around the
20th century the population was concerned about a loss of cultural
traditions and therefore tried to preserve culture, including the music, and tried
to spread it out. As a result Bavarian folk music became popular all over the
world during the industrial revolution.[3]
That is also a reason, why musicians from outside of Germany combined their
music with traditional Bavarian music elements[4].
